Kenya Healthcare Federation participated in the annual #EAHFconference2022 that took place last week from 28th-30th September in Kampala, Uganda. Hosted by Uganda Healthcare Federation, the 11th EAHF Conference themed as: Building Resilient Systems for Evolving Health Challenges: The Inevitable Role of Africa’s Private Sector was aimed at discussing how regional states can integrate private players into the health system.
The EAHF conference 2022 marked 11 years since the inauguration of East Africa Healthcare Federation which was set up to represent the voice of the private players in the Health Sector and has grown from 3 to 8 countries over the years.
During the Innovative Financing and Sustainable Investment Panel Session, Dr. Kanyenje Gakombe, chairman, Kenya Healthcare Federation, shared his insights on Regional collaboration to build a cross border health hub. Innovation using an integration approach and how to work with local partners looking at broader issues while focusing on a primary healthcare level integrating public and private sector.
Association of Private Health Facilities in Tanzania will now take over the chairmanship of the EAHF and host EAHF Conference of 2023 in Tanzania.
