Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF) held a Breakfast Meeting with the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) at Sarova Panafric Hotel. The meeting was led by the KHF Chairperson, Dr. Kanyenje Gakombe, KHF Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Anastasia Nyalita and NHIF Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Peter Kamunyo.
The main focus areas included the delayed payments owed to Private Health Facilities, NHIF new contracts and reimbursements rates for specialized care, UHC progress update, delayed onboarding/accreditation of new services to existing health facilities NHIF Contracts and the operationalization of the NHIF Amendment Act 2022 – NHIF Act 2022, Draft Rules.
In attendance were also KHF Director, Dr. Walter Obita; KHF Healthcare Financing Committee Chair, Dr. Njoki Fernandes and Vice Chair Dr. Dennis Okaka; KAPH Chairman, Dr. Abdi Mohamed; Africa Healthcare Network Co-founder, CEO and Director, Nikhil Pereira; NHIF Legal Services, Janet Boit and Grace Kimani; NHIF Finance Manager Bernard Njenga and NHIF Strategy and Planning, James Mutinda and Simon Kariuki.
