At the Think Tank on Strengthening Data-Driven Healthcare, supported by the Ministry of Health, Kenya, Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF), and Wolters Kluwer, leaders, clinicians, policymakers, and global experts came together to shape how trusted data, AI, and digital systems can transform healthcare.

The discussions highlighted both Kenya’s progress and Africa’s unique opportunity to leapfrog through innovation while aligning with global standards and best practices.

🔹 AI trust & governance — AI can reduce medical errors and improve decision-making, but only if guided by strong ethical frameworks, clinician oversight, and patient safeguards.

🔹 Interoperability & standards — Breaking data silos is essential for continuity of care. Global frameworks (like those in Europe) show how common standards can ensure privacy, equity, and efficiency.

🔹 Kenya’s digital health momentum — With structured data systems, strong publication output, and MOH-led digitization of 7,000+ facilities underway, Kenya is positioned to lead Africa’s data-driven health transformation.

🔹 Africa’s opportunity — With a population set to reach 2.5 billion by 2050, Africa can embrace responsible digital adoption to close service gaps and strengthen preventive care.

🔹 Global perspective — The dialogue positioned Kenya and Africa within the broader global movement toward trusted, patient-centered data ecosystems that strike a balance between innovation and safety.
