The 17th Ministerial Stakeholders Forum (MSF) brought together leaders from the Ministry of Health, the private sector, and development partners to advance Kenya’s collective health agenda. The Forum continues to serve as a key platform for structured dialogue, accountability, and partnership between public and private stakeholders working toward stronger health systems and universal health coverage (UHC).
Key Discussions and Sector Priorities
Discussions throughout the session were honest, solution-driven, and focused on the structural issues shaping Kenya’s healthcare ecosystem. Stakeholders emphasized the importance of restoring trust between public agencies and private healthcare providers, particularly in addressing delays that have affected hospitals, distributors, and manufacturers.
Participants highlighted several priority issues requiring coordinated action:
Predictable payment timelines from public institutions and supply chain agencies
Improved resource allocation to essential health services
Regulatory efficiency, including reducing duplication and streamlining compliance
Strengthening supply chains, especially addressing KEMSA-related bottlenecks
- Accelerating local manufacturing, with renewed commitment to ML3 accreditation and the 50% local procurement policy
There was a strong shared message: Kenya’s health sector progress depends on sustained collaboration, trust, and partnership between the government and the private sector.
