The USAID Uongozi wa Afya Thabiti Private Providers Stakeholder Engagement Meeting convened leaders from across Kenya’s private health sector to discuss strategies for improving health governance. Over 3 days, participants from organizations like CHAK, KCCB, RUPHA, KAPH and SUPKEM engaged in robust discussions on policy updates, regulatory frameworks, health financing, and more. By fostering dialogue and unity, this meeting set the stage for more effective healthcare leadership and governance.
The event covered critical topics including the new Health Act and recent health bills, digitization in healthcare, and creating bankable projects for private hospitals. Participants provided insights into gaps in governance, policy implementation, and coordination between public and private sectors. The meeting allowed healthcare leaders to align priorities and chart a course toward strengthened systems that can help achieve Universal Health Coverage in Kenya.
