KHF hosted the 13th AGM which is an Annual Forum hosted by the Kenya Healthcare Federation to bring together Health Sector players from the Private Sector, Public Sector, Development Partner Groups, and other partners and Stakeholders to celebrate the successes and achievements in Health as well as to chart a way forward into the coming year. This meeting took place in Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi, Westlands.
During the AGM the following presentations were made;
- Director of AAIC Partners Africa, Mr. Hiroki Ishida made a presentation about the Ultimate Indoors Germ and Infectious Disease Protection. He also included a video during their presentation. View the video presented here.
- Also Operations Lead of Amref Health Africa, Mr Peter Otieno made a presentation about the Amref Health Innovations on the Introduction to the Private Sector. Amref Health Africa will focus on three strategic pillars – HRH, Service Delivery and Health Financing.
- Relationship Manager under Corporate Banking of Equity Bank Limited, Elizabeth Mwiti made a presentation about the Health Sector Financing Solutions.
- Finally, Africa Resource Centre (ARC) County Director, Anthony Okoth and Pharmacy and Poisons Board Corporate Affairs, Dr. Jacinta Wasike emphasized on supply chain optimization to ensure last mile delivery of Medicines and Health Products. Resilient supply chains are the center of achieving Universal Health Coverage.
KHF immediate former Chair Dr Amit N. Thakker shared the journey with KHF since 2015 – 2021. He highlighted major achievements and milestones during his tenure as the board. He stated, “We started with just seven founding members and our current membership stands at 200. Each member believes in the cause of influencing policy to create a more enabling environment, promoting affordable, accessible, quality healthcare for all. Since the beginning of my term in 2015, our membership has grown at an average rate of 20% per annum. We have seen membership funds grow, allowing us to do more policy and advocacy work. Our annual revenue has multiplied seven fold since 2015. This means we’re doing something right.”
We take this opportunity to thank him and his board for the huge milestones achieved during his time.
KHF CEO Dr. Anastasia Nyalita celebrated Dr Amit N. Thakker‘s tenure as the Chair of the Board, under his leadership, KHF was in continuous engagements with MOH and other vital stakeholders and this ensured remarkable achievements were attained for the private sector. She also expressed confidence in the incoming chair Dr. Kanyenje Gakombe and pledged her commitment to work with him to build on the achievements made.
KHF Vice Chair, Dr Elizabeth Wala congratulated Dr Amit N. Thakker on his great leadership that steered KHF to tremendous achievements. She also congratulated the incoming chair Dr. Kanyenje Gakombe who will lead KHF towards achieving new milestones.
Congratulations Dr. Kanyenje Gakombe for being elected Chairman of KHF for the period 2021-2024. Also, newly elected include KHF Director Professional Association Dr. Linus Wachira Ndegwa, KHF Director Corporate Vinod Guptan and KHF Director Corporate Isaiah Okoth.
We are confident that under your great leadership you will steer the organization to new milestones.
We take this opportunity to thank Dr Amit N. Thakker and his Board, for the huge milestones achieved during his tenure and wish the 2021-2024 Board the very best. The Board Members were all given shields and gifts for their good service over their respective terms.
KEPSA DCEO Martha Cheruto gave her remarks on behalf of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) Team. She also congratulated the incoming chair Dr. Kanyenje Gakombe who will lead KHF towards achieving new milestones. She also handed over the gift hampers to thank all the sponsors and other board directors for the continued support and leadership.
