Dr. Walter Obita is the Country Director at MSI Reproductive Choices Kenya / Marie Stopes Kenya. He is also a member of the Benefits Package and Tariffs Advisory Panel set to advise the Health Cabinet Secretary and the Social Health Authority on benefit packages.
A seasoned healthcare professional, Dr. Walter has extensive experience and a deep understanding of the health sector. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions by founding and managing healthcare institutions, as well as providing technical expertise in reproductive health, health markets and financing, health systems strengthening, healthcare investments, project management, public-private engagement and partnerships.
He has had the privilege of working with host governments, commercial private sector institutions, investors, non-profit organisations, and development agencies across the region, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the health industry. In his different capacities, he has worked collaboratively with various stakeholders to promote quality healthcare services, advocate for sexual and reproductive health rights, ensure active private sector participation in universal health coverage implementation, promote a favourable business environment for healthcare investments in health, engage in dialogue initiatives to address healthcare service delivery challenges, and foster partnerships between the private sector and government.
