The Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF), in collaboration with key stakeholders, officially launched the Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC) Community of Practice (CoP) during the IMNCH Conference.
The Community of Practice will be housed under the KHF Quality Committee and will convene a broad range of stakeholders, including healthcare providers, insurers, professional associations, and industry partners, to champion and advance the adoption of Value-Based Healthcare in Kenya.
VBHC is a transformative approach that focuses on improving patient outcomes relative to the cost of care. By prioritizing quality and value over service volume, it promotes patient-centered care while driving greater efficiency across the health system.
This initiative comes at a critical moment for Kenya. As the country advances toward its Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goals within a constrained fiscal environment, the need to maximize the impact of available resources has never been more urgent.
The VBHC Community of Practice was spearheaded by KHF members, PharmAccess Kenya, Infospective, and Leapfrog, whose leadership has been instrumental in bringing this initiative to life.
KHF looks forward to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to drive the adoption of VBHC principles and improve healthcare outcomes across the country. Stakeholders are encouraged to join the Community of Practice and contribute to shaping a more sustainable, patient-centered healthcare system.
