ICT and Mobile Health Technology Committee

KHF is the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) umbrella health sector representative body which is dedicated to engaging the government and all relevant stakeholders towards achieving quality healthcare through enabling policies that maximize the contribution of the private sector.

ICT and Mobile Health Technology Committee

The growth of Information and Communication Technology in Kenya has facilitated implementation of a large number of e-Health projects in a bid to cost-effectively address health and health system challenges.

This development ICT and mobile health coupled with presence of a sizable ICT human resource contributed to increased implementation of e-Health projects in the country. The Ministry of Health recently launched the Kenya National eHealth Policy 2016 – 2030 towards attainment of the highest standard of health through adoption and use of ICT. This policy highlights the numerous challenges the healthcare sector faces including demand for high quality and equitable distribution. This is the motivation behind healthcare providers and the governments focus on eHealth as an adjunct to overcome these challenges.

This committee formation aims to look into the e-Health initiatives within the private and public being implemented in Kenya, including an assessment of the areas of focus and geographic distribution of the health projects.

Terms of Reference for the ICT and Mobile Health Committee

  • Promote effective Regulation the ICT and Mobile Health systems
  • Promote patient access to mobile healthcare existing systems
  • Provide support for adoption of innovative and affordable healthcare systems
  • Promote networking with Ministry of Health, county governments and other development partners supporting ICT and mobile health development.
